# Revenue Model

Shortify generates revenue through a **hybrid model** - token utility for crypto-native users, fiat/crypto payments for everyone else, and **creator passive income** as a core design principle. Multiple streams reduce dependency on any single source and ensure value flows back to the people who build content on the platform.

***

### Creator passive income - a core revenue pillar

Shortify is designed to pay creators back - not just charge them a subscription:

<table data-header-hidden data-search="false"><thead><tr><th></th><th></th><th></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Mechanism</td><td>Creator earns</td><td>Platform earns</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Founders club revenue share</strong></td><td>Quarterly % of total platform revenue (Legend tier)</td><td>Retention + long-term <code>$SHORT</code> demand</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Template marketplace</strong></td><td>Royalty on every template sale</td><td>Marketplace fee</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Ambassador referrals</strong></td><td><code>$SHORT</code> + fiat commission per referred user/project</td><td>User acquisition</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Partnership introductions</strong></td><td>Ongoing rev share when you bring a project collab</td><td>B2B partnership fees</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Content creator pool</strong></td><td>Paid per clip pack delivered for project requests</td><td>Content request margin</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Overlay pack licensing</strong></td><td>Passive income when projects license your designs</td><td>Licensing fee split</td></tr></tbody></table>

**The goal:** A Web3 creator who joins early, builds templates, refers projects, and holds Legend tier should earn recurring passive income that grows as Shortify scales.

### 1. Token-gated tiers + fiat unlock

| Access method | How it works |
| ----------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Hold $SHORT** | Connect wallet → balance checked → tier unlocked automatically |
| **Pay by card** | Fixed monthly/annual fiat price per tier (Stripe or equivalent) |
| **Pay by crypto** | One-time or recurring payment in ETH, SOL, USDC, etc. |

This dual path ensures crypto natives get hold-to-unlock utility while traditional creators can pay without touching tokens.

**Example fiat pricing** (illustrative, final pricing at launch):

| Tier | Token hold | Fiat equivalent |
| ------- | ----------- | --------------- |
| Free | 0 | $0 |
| Creator | 10K $SHORT | \~$5/mo |
| Studio | 100K $SHORT | \~$20/mo |
| Legend | 1M $SHORT | \~$50/mo |

### 2. Content requests (B2B one-time fees)

Web3 projects, agencies, and brands pay a one-time fee for Shortify to produce clip packs or vidoe contents:

| Service | Description | Pricing model |
| --------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------- | ------------------ |
| **Clip pack** | 5–20 branded clips from provided footage | Fixed fee per pack |
| **AMA highlight reel** | Full edit of a livestream into 10+ clips | Per-event fee |
| **Launch campaign content** | TGE/launch day clip suite with overlays and captions | Campaign package |
| **Rush delivery** | 24-hour turnaround on content requests | Premium surcharge |

**Target customers:** Token launches, NFT projects, DeFi protocols, crypto influencers, marketing agencies.

### 3. Project partnership whitelists & smart contract integrations

Projects partner with Shortify to **grant their community premium access:** verified on-chain via any smart contract on supported chains:

<table data-header-hidden data-search="false"><thead><tr><th></th><th></th><th></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Partnership type</td><td>How it works</td><td>Revenue</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Holder whitelist</strong></td><td>Project pays flat fee → all verified holders get Creator/Studio tier for X months or as agreed</td><td>One-time or annual partnership fee</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Smart contract gating</strong></td><td>Project provides contract address → Shortify reads balances in real time → auto-unlock tiers</td><td>Integration fee + ongoing rev share</td></tr><tr><td><strong>NFT-gated access</strong></td><td>Hold specific NFT → auto-unlock tier (no $SHORT required)</td><td>Integration fee + rev share</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Co-branded studio</strong></td><td>Project logo in editor, custom overlay pack, branded export watermark</td><td>Licensing fee</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Launch bundle</strong></td><td>TGE partner gets content tools + clip pack + AI launch-day templates for their community</td><td>Launch package pricing</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Multi-contract rules</strong></td><td>Hold partner token AND <code>$SHORT</code> → stacked perks</td><td>Premium integration tier</td></tr></tbody></table>

**Example:** A memecoin with 50K holders deploys on Robinhood Chain → Shortify integrates their contract → every holder above 1M tokens auto-gets Studio tier for X months → project pays partnership fee → creators in the pool earn from delivering launch clip packs.

### 4. Processing credits & overage fees

For Free tier users who exceed daily quotas:

| Overage | Fee |
| ------------------------------------------------ | ----------------------------------------- |
| Extra export beyond daily limit | Micro-payment per export (crypto or card) |
| Extended clip duration (Free tier capped at 60s) | Per-second overage fee |
| Priority queue skip | One-time boost fee |

### 5. API & SDK access (Phase 4)

Programmatic clip generation for bots, dashboards, and automated content pipelines:

| Tier | Access | Pricing |
| -------------- | ------------------------------------- | ------------------------ |
| **Developer** | 1,000 API calls/mo | Monthly subscription |
| **Business** | 10,000 API calls/mo + webhooks | Higher tier subscription |
| **Enterprise** | Unlimited + SLA + custom integrations | Custom contract |

**Use cases:** Telegram bots that auto-clip AMAs, project dashboards that generate daily content, agency pipelines.

### 6. Marketplace & templates (future)

| Revenue stream | Description |
| --------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Premium templates** | Trending edit templates sold by top creators (rev share) |
| **Overlay packs** | Branded sticker/logo packs for specific projects |
| **Music/sound integration** | Licensed audio snippets for clip soundtracks |

***

### 7. Founders club & revenue share

Legend tier holders and early Founders club members participate in platform revenue - the centerpiece of Shortify's creator passive income model:

* **Quarterly revenue share** from fiat subscriptions, content requests, partnerships, and API fees
* **Distributed in $SHORT or stablecoin** based on tier, tenure, and contribution score
* **Compounding upside:** as the platform grows, creator passive income grows with it
* Aligns long-term holders and top creators with platform success - not just token speculation

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.shortify.wtf/revenue-model.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
