# Wallet Authentication

### Sign in with your wallet. Nothing else.

Shortify replaces email/password auth with cryptographic wallet signatures.

#### Supported chains

| Chain               | Wallet examples              |
| ------------------- | ---------------------------- |
| **Ethereum**        | MetaMask, Trust Wallet, etc. |
| **Robinhood Chain** | MetaMask, Trust Wallet, etc. |
| **Solana**          | Phantom, Solflare            |
| **BNB Smart Chain** | MetaMask, Trust Wallet       |

#### How it works

1. Click **Connect Wallet** → choose your chain
2. Backend issues a **nonce** (one-time challenge)
3. You sign the message: `"Shortify sign-in"`
4. Backend verifies signature → issues **JWT session** (7-day default)
5. Balances fetched on login for future tier checks

Powered by [**Reown AppKit** ](https://reown.com/reown-sdk)(WalletConnect) on the frontend and JWT + signature verification on the backend.
