# Import & Input

### Drop or paste - your clip starts here

Shortify accepts video from two paths: **direct upload** or **Youtube** **URL import**. No desktop app. No account form. Connect your wallet and start creating.

#### File upload

| Supported formats        | Max size                                         | Notes                                           |
| ------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------ | ----------------------------------------------- |
| MP4, MOV, WebM, AVI, MKV | 40 MB (Default). Higher limits for higher tiers. | One video at a time; new input replaces current |

Drag and drop into the studio or use the file picker. Processing begins immediately on the backend.

#### URL import

Paste a link from:

* **YouTube (Live)**
* TikTok
* Instagram
* Facebook

Shortify uses a custom library on the backend to fetch the video, then loads it into the editor session.

> **Tip for creators:** Paste a YouTube AMA or video replay, then trim the best 30-60 second moment - no manual download required.

#### Why this matters

Most crypto content lives on X Spaces recordings, YouTube AMAs, and TikTok lives. URL import removes the "download → re-upload" friction that kills momentum when a clip needs to ship in the next hour.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.shortify.wtf/features-overview/import-and-input.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
